Australia is one of the world's most culturally diverse and multilingual countries. When it comes to the internet, how true is this claim of our local content and industry? This conference is devoted to clarifying the current policy response and making known current initiatives. This landmark conference will explore these issues and provide direction to those concerned with the development of multilingual online services to Australia's diverse communities, regional neighbours, and beyond. Monday 30 October is devoted to an exploration of the policy context, Tuesday 31 October will be a day of workshops and presentations, and Wednesday 1 November will be a smaller high-level technical event. As it is likely that there will be a strong demand for places, your early registration is encouraged. Registration information and the proposed program, including costs, can be found at http://www.openroad.net.au/world. Please forward this announcement to any lists or colleagues you think would be interested in taking part.
