Women and Policing Globally

Major international conference on improving policing for women and children

Women and Policing Globally 20 - 24 October 2002

Students, advocates form women's human rights, police practitioners and administrators, and the law enforcement and legal community generally are invited to examine and share international models of policing with the potential to improve policing for women and children. Some of the topics will include:
- women in peacekeeping and regions of conflict and women as peacekeepers
- international comparisons of women in policing
- trafficking in women
- international networks for women in policing and law enforcement
- violence against women
- increasing diversity within policing and law enforcement

This conference will be the Third Australasian Women and Policing Conference
and the 40th International Association of Women and Policing Annual Training
Conference. It is being held at the National Convention Centre in Canberra
and is being hosted by the Australian Federal Police.

The call for papers closes on 30 May 2002 and 100 word abstracts should be
