Order of Australia Awards

Nominations for Orders of Australia come from the community.
Anybody in the community can nominate any Australian citizen for an award within the Order of Australia. Community organisations, professional bodies and the like may nominate someone for an award.

The process is straightforward
1. nomination of an Australian citizen who has made an outstanding contribution to the community
2. research by the Honours Secretariat
3. consideration by the Order of Australia Council
4. recommendation to the Governor General for approval.
