Setting the Agenda: ATSIC National Policy Conference 2002

This conference offers the opportunity for ATSIC to share our vision with existing and potential partners. We will be focusing on an improved understanding of the principles of self-determination and rights and how they can be put into practice in policy development and co-ordination.

The program has a strong focus on the promotion and recognition of Indigenous voices and wil provide you with an opportunity to interact with Indigenous thinkers and explore Indigenous positions, new ideas and approaches.

We encourage your participation if your actions directly or indirectly influence the daily lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The expected outcomes of the conference will be:
* Adoption of new approaches to the policy process nad decision making in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander affairs,
* Improved understanding of self-determination and Indigenous rights, and
* Improved Indigenous policy directions.
