Probation and Community Corrections: Making the Community Safer

This conference will provide a platform for the dissemination of information about current and proposed practice and research in the wide field of community corrections.


Conference Themes

Specific themes of the conference will include community corrections' interface with:
Throughcare
Indigenous offenders and victims
Sentencing, and judicial confidence in community corrections
Women offenders and victims
Offending behaviour programs
Specialist courts
Use of technology, including home detention and curfews
Working with difficult populations, including driving offenders, fine defaulters and the mentally ill
Restorative justice and victim offender mediation
Involving offenders' families

Suggestions for additional themes will be welcomed.

The conference will therefore be of interest to a broad range of people working in and around the criminal justice system, or with an interest in it:
