The Role of Schools in Crime Prevention

The aims of the conference is to provide an opportunity for practitioners, researchers and policymakers involved with the prevention of anti-social behaviour and crime in schools to discuss the incidence and types of these activities. Particular emphasis will be placed on preventive strategies and pro-active programs.


The conference will include the following major topics:

Crime prevention
Conflict management
Bullying in schools
Drug/alcohol issues
Student code of conduct
Risk and protective factors
Prevention and intervention programs
Vulnerable groups
Regional and rural issues
School/community partnerships
Evaluation

The conference program will include papers by plenary speakers, other invited speakers and selected papers from interested persons in plenary and concurrent sessions. If you would like to present a paper, please prepare the following:

* A brief abstract (approx 150 words)
* A personal profile (two paragraphs)
* Details of some papers you have presented in the past (ie paper title, where it was presented and date of presentation).

The closing date for abstracts is the 30th of May 2002.
