Inclusive Activism: Confronting the Politics of ExclusionDate: 01 September 2002 through 04 September 2002Author: National Community Legal Centre Conference
National Community Legal Centre Conference
Community Legal Centres arew operating in the context of a backlash against human rights and the environemnt. This onslaught has turned into a tsunami, and community standards have been eroded to the point where there is no limit to what people can say and do - sexism, racism and other forms of biotry are being normalised. People's ability to effectively use legal remedies are being undermined in most areas of law. CLC's are confronting these politics of exclusion. We are embracing opportunities for forming alliances locally and internationally, with a renewed enthusiam for 'Inclusive Activism'. This year's national conference will be a landmark in CLC's contribution to a growing global movement that aims to resolve social, economic, and environmental injustice.
There will be 70+ workshop/event opportunities and we are working to ensure that the conference will be relevant to all members of the CLC sector.
