Local And Global Voices: Activating Human Rights and Diversity Conference

Southern Cross University in Northern NSW is preparing to hold an international conference on human rights. Called 'Local and Global Voices' the conference will be held in Byron Bay, NSW from 1-4 July 2003.

The conference aims to bring together activists, scholars, Non Government Organisations, and health care and community workers who represent a diversity of viewpoints. The conference will seek local and global responses to the essential need for justice in the world today.

The conference will also play an important role in promoting regional Australia as a place where local, national and global voices can come together in the quest for justice and freedom.

Speakers will include Professor Monica McWilliams, MP; Professor Raimond Gaita; Dr Sev Ozdowski; and Justice John Dowd.

- Proposals for Papers -

Proposals for 20-25 minute papers with a 200 word abstract can be submitted until 3 February 2003. Abstracts should be submitted to:
