Second World Congress on Family Violence (WCFV)Date: 21 June 2003 through 26 June 2003Author: nwjc
The World Congress is co-sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and is convened under the auspices of the International Network on Family Violence and its Secretariat: the National Council on Child Abuse and Family Violence in the United States. Dr. Prema Mathai-Davis, Chairperson of the Steering Committee of the First WCFV in 1998 at Singapore is the Honorary Chairperson of this Second WCFV in Prague. The World Congress will be held over six days and promises to be the largest and most substantive event on family violence ever held internationally. The themes of the Congress include Protecting Every Generation -, Sharing Solutions that Prevent Child Abuse, Spouse/Partner Abuse (Domestic Violence) and Elder Abuse. Special emphasis will be given to innovative solutions, best practices and research findings on cross-disciplinary themes, target groups, determinants, specific communities or geographical regions. Registration is US$595 for the 6 days for individuals from industrialised countries (for bookings before 31 January 2003, later bookings attract higher fees). Concessions are available for students, seniors and individuals from developing countries.
