Purposes
The 'Through-Our-Eyes Follow On
Project aims to boost policy input particularly on federal issues relating to women and
the law by services, networks and communities in regional, rural and remote Australia
('RRR Women's Legal Networks).
The project builds on the momentum of the Through
Our Eyes - National Conference on the Legal Needs of Women in Regional, Rural and Remote
Australia and will:
- facilitate information flow to and from RRR Women's Legal Networks,
- increase awareness of the way the law and access to services impacts on women in RRR
Australia, and
- provide a vehicle for ongoing sharing of information and experience to promote effective
solutions.
Consistent with the outcomes of the Regional Australia Summit, adopted by the federal
government, the project will promote equity in service availability for regional, rural
and remote Australia and facilitate work to this end at a community and local level.
The project aims to provide benefits to federal government bodies, non-government
organisation networks and project workers seeking to engage and consult with RRR Women's
Legal Networks and improve access to information and communication options for RRR Women's
Legal Networks.
